Lâmina

Partnership between Brazilian artists Gabriela De Laurentiis and João Mascaro. The duo's creations explore relationships between artistic and architectural elements, dealing with themes such as violence, tourism and technology in the contemporary capitalism.

In 2018, the duo had their first solo “Layers: visual narratives of violence”, exhibited at the Casa de Cultura da América Latina, Brasília, and then at the historical build of Maria Antônia Cultural Center, São Paulo, as part of a program that recalled the effects of the military dictatorship in Brazil (1964-1985).

Lâmina participated in a series of group exhibitions and their works are part of the important public collection “Triangular : art of this century”. Since 2022, the artists are living between São Paulo and Paris. Gabriela De Laurentiis and João Mascaro build their own works, and they always use photographs taken by themselves as matrices for their art pieces.
